Notification regarding ICRU 90

The readers should be aware that the ICRU has released report 90 on recommendations for Key data used in radiation dosimetry codes of practice and primary standards. This report contains considerable changes compared to previous recommendations. For now the NCS has not implemented these recommendations in the existing CoPs that will be affected (the NCS codes of practices NCS 2, 5, 10 and 18) by these recommendations. For megavoltage energies, the NCS strongly advises to switch to the prevailing dosimetry protocol, NCS 18, for which the differences are expected to be small and will only be present for electron beam dosimetry.

The NCS protocols will be updated  once implementation of these recommendations in the international CoPs has started.
